Nathanael, age 9, received a packet of sunflower seeds at school, and brought them home to plant. However, we have very little space for tall sunflowers where they would receive enough sun, so he was only able to plant a few. Today, Labor Day, they are just opening up, but have buds that will keep the plants showing their blooms well through September! He planted these next to our house, which is also right next to the entryway for his school, so teachers, parents and students will all see the sunflowers greeting them on their way into school in the morning!
